TROPHY BIKES
Who's Who At Trophy

Michael McGettigan Co-owner of Trophy Bikes... cyclist since age 9... active in the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, currently on the BCGP board... helped start up Youth Cycle & Re-Cycle (now Neighborhood Bike Works) ... McG enjoys riding the Wissahickon on a single-speed Surly Crosscheck and the occasional overlong century ride... his past includes piano tuning, pop music (drummer for the Stickmen) and stints as a journalist: his cycling how-to's have appeared in the Philadelphia Daily News, the City Paper, PW, and Bicycling Magazine.

Mcget's writing background has helped hype Trophy events such as the Great British Bike Weekend -- May13-14-15, and the ROUND*UP small wheel + folder Bike Fest, June 2006.

Tom Rauscher is Trophy's senior mechanic. "I ride, I wrench, and in between I drink a lot of coffee," says Tom. (no sugar, w/soy) Tom laced up his Gunnar CrossHairs wheels using an unusual "crows-foot" spoking.

Eric Allen, mechanic/sales, is (like many MTBers) rehabbing an ankle injury while preparing to get a nice dual-suspension Jamis. Eric is managing the Trophy Bike Garage in Old City. Check Eric's hand-painted Surly 1x1.

Daniel Niedziowcha, mechanic/sales, has run his own bike rehab biz, and did time at Philly's premier vintage shop, Via Bicycle... obsessive-compulsive MTBer.

Rick checking deraileur hanger alignment on a single-speed? Interesting.

Steven Schwortz, sales/mechanic, climbs rocks, digs for artifacts and rides a homebrew single-speed. Look for him at the Trophy Bike Garage and at our main store in University City.

MEET SOME NEW / OLD GUYS: Be on the lookout for Jesse Nepywoda, our new mech, and mech trainee Ben Pippen. Both of them enjoy riding their bikes off ledges and loading docks when not at Trophy or at college. Trophy vet and Team Shiftless sparkplug Travis Skidmore has been helping out lately at Trophy, when he's not creating at his new firm, Skidmutro.

Rick Jacobsen sales and mechanical service for Trophy, will be a rare sight at Trophy these days--he's now shaping young minds as a teacher for the Philadelphia School. The Park Tool School will resume once Rick trains a successor. Rick says, "Please do as I say not as I do... check your tire pressure once a week. Thank you."

Our staff has one thing in common--we all dig bicycling, and we are all still learning about riding, new and vintage bikes, and what people like to do with their bicycles.
