Jamis Supernova '11 — $2699
SKU JAM-SUPER-XX-11
The Jamis Supernova is the top-of-the-line cyclocross bike from Jamis...and may be the best cross bike we've yet seen.
Several of us at Trophy race 'cross, so we're happy to point out a few reasons to ride this bike. The Supernova of course has your fundamental competitive edges - it's fast, stiff and lightweight, and has a geometry that responds quickly, perfect for the twists and turns of a 'cross course...or urban commute.
It's all the extras that make it "super" -
-SRAM Rival gruppo, a smart choice...SRAM's cable pull is more dependable and lower-maintenance than anything else out there
-BB30 and Tapered steertube - wider bottom bracket and fork with 30% wider bottom race; that extra material and beefy tubing goes a long way to stiffen up the front end and cranks. This bike won't wiggle and bend under the massive force of your watts...it all goes into forward motion!
-Ritchey WCS Zeta wheelset - racer types may drool over these specs: Strong Ritchey alu deep-section rims, even stronger Sapim CX-Ray spokes, and low-maintenance sealed German bearings. Translation, fast, yet durable.
All in all, this bike has the right design spec, and offers more than any other 'cross bikes in this price range. We don't always have this bike in stock on our racks, but we'll be happy to get one in for your next test ride at Trophy.

But also...
You don't race cyclocross--why ride a 'cross bike?
Because the traits of a good cross bike -- big tire clearance, fast handling, sturdiness--all make it a great bike for fast commuting, or light touring.
